Parametric Insurance for Youth-Led Farmer Cooperatives

Across Sub-Saharan Africa, over 150 million rain-fed farmers face mounting climate risks, yet, fewer than 3% have access to agricultural insurance. Youngdevs is changing that by providing affordable, satellite-derived drought and flood insurance embedded directly into financial products and value chains that already power African agriculture.

Youngdevs has already protected more than 4,300 young farmers across 21 youth-led and managed farming cooperatives in Ghana, with 100% accessing insurance for the first time. Youngdevs automates payouts through mobile money, enabling faster recovery after climate shocks and strengthening both resilience and gender equity.
